What every report checks
Real findings, real presets
Every entry names the preset, the block, the physics, and the fix. These three come from our sample reports — real Helix presets, run through the same audit a paid report gets, with the preset names changed:

The cab filter removes the fundamental of the low D — the note itself, not the mud. Heard as hollow, weightless chugs, and no amount of drive or EQ can bring back a note the filter removed.

The IR passes everything from 19.9 Hz to 20 kHz: sub-bass flub no real cab produces, eating headroom, and digital fizz above the ~5–7 kHz where every real speaker rolls off.

Two cabs summing in parallel have to agree on level, or one path swamps the other and the blend smears instead of thickening. Keep the two cab models; match their levels.
Read a complete sample report
Findings are ranked Fault (objectively wrong), Warning (almost certainly hurting you) and Review (unusual, possibly intentional). You stay the final authority on your own tone.
Any Helix preset you can export works: factory presets, ones you built yourself, marketplace presets exported from your device, and 4-cable-method or FRFR rigs — any genre, any tuning.
Process
Select your presets in the Librarian panel (shift-click for a whole setlist) and choose Export. Plain files on your computer — takes two minutes.
After checkout you land on the upload page — drop the files in and tell us your guitar, pickups, and the lowest tuning you play. The physics changes with the tuning, so we ask.
Within 48 hours: a ranked report with every finding explained in plain English, a concrete fix value for each one, and corrected preset files with the unambiguous fixes already applied.

I’m Adam. I’ve played guitar for 26 years and piano for 32, with bass along the way: in bands, at church, and in my own studio, where I write, record and mix my own music in Logic Pro. I’m a tinkerer by nature. I’ve restored a family heirloom banjo and a violin, so opening up a preset to see what’s really inside it came naturally.
The Rig Report started as my own checklist on this rig: a Strat through a Helix LT and a Blackstar. Every rule in it was tested by ear before it was allowed to flag anything, and more than once the “obvious” fix was wrong and the ears won.

No. Taste is yours. We report what is physically wrong or inconsistent — filters above your lowest note, dead snapshots, unbalanced parallel paths, one amp knob wildly out of line with its siblings. What the preset should sound like remains your call.
Both, in the $39. Where a fix has one correct answer regardless of guitar, amp or taste — a filter removing real notes, a cab blocking frequencies no speaker produces — we apply it and send corrected files alongside your untouched originals, every change listed with its reason. Anything that's a judgment call we leave to you, with a specific value to try.
Every rule was validated by ear on real rigs before it was allowed to flag anything — including several rounds where the "obvious" fix was wrong and the ears won. Rules that can't be verified from the file and the physics don't ship.
If they're DRM-protected marketplace files, nobody can read them — including us. But the copies on your device aren't: export them from HX Edit and the export is auditable. That's your own saved state, which is exactly what you play through.
Yes, with the same habit you'd use for any preset: back up in HX Edit first. Your untouched originals come back in the same delivery, and every change we made is listed with its reason, so you can undo any one of them by hand or just reload the original.
Then your ears win. Findings marked Review are often deliberate choices, and even a Fault comes with the physics behind it so you can judge it yourself. Reply to the report email and we'll talk it through.
48 hours from when both your payment and your files arrive, and usually sooner. Every report is read by a person before it goes out, so a wrong finding never reaches you. If we ever run past 14 days, you can have a full refund.
Yes. The report reads whatever your preset contains: amp and cab blocks, loaded IRs, send/return loops. For IRs, send a screenshot of your IR list with your presets, because a preset only knows an IR by its slot number, and we can catch a patch playing through the wrong speaker.
Read them, write your report, delete them. They're never shared, never used as marketing material with identifying details, never kept.
